Peaches: Tune of the week

I know that Poseidon doesn't like "Tune of the week" but Poseidon, you have to listen to this! It's good, I promise!
I discovered this song when I was in Australia, I kept hearing it on the radio and finally I managed to download it.
I love it, both the music and the lyrics are awesome! Unfortunately I couldn't find a non-live version.
Gin Blossoms: Hey Jealousy

You can trust me not to drink
And not to sleep around
And if you don't expect too much form me
You might not be let down

Cos all I really want to be with you
And feel like I matter too
If I hadn't blow the whole thing years ago
I might be here with you

Tomorrow we can drive around this town
And let the cops chase us around
The past is gone but something might be found
to take it's place

Peaches: Tune of the week- Random

This is a random duett, but a great song!

You know it in the end you'd do it all again

Enrique Iglesias feat. Lionel Richie- "To Love a Woman"

Peaches: God must hate me

Tune of the week: Simple Plan- "God Must Hate Me"

English:
My phone got stolen on Saturday. People at Stureplan are "soooo cool and sooo rich" but still walking around stealing phones. I met at least four others who had also lost their phones. I'm fucking mad, miserable, poor and agressive. I hate the world and all disgusting people in it. Contact with me it made via the internet or Pearl.
Tune of the week: Simple Plan- "God Must Hate Me"

I guess there's no use
I'm screwing up every little thing I ever try to do
I was born to lose
God must hate me cursed me fo eternity
God must hate me maybe you should pray for me
I'm breaking down and you cant save me

So what in the world am I suppose to do?
I never did anything to you
So can't you find something else to do?

Pearl: Tune of the week

Been listen to The Killers new album Day & Age lately and it'spretty good. Here is one of my favorits.

SPACEMAN

And you know I might
Have just flown too far from the floor this time
Cause they calling me by my name
And the zipping white light beams
Disregarding the bombs and satellites

That was the turning point
That was one lonely night

The starmaker says it ain't so bad
The dreammaker's gonna make you mad
The spaceman says everybody look down!
It's all in your mind

Now I'm back at home and
I’m looking forward to this life I live
You know it's going to harm me
So hesitation to this life I give
You think you might cross over
You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea
You better look it over
Before you make that leap

And you know I'm fine, but I hear those voices at night
Sometimes, they justify my claim
And the public don’t dwell on my transmission
Cause It wasn’t televised

But it was the turning point
O what a lonely night

Peaches: Tune of the Week

English:
I was raised with this band, when I was a kid, we used to go to Hungary by car, and my dad always played Bikini. You know during the time before the CD, when cars only had a tape recorder. Oh what I'd give to be a kid again. I'm so happy that this band is still recordning new awesome songs. It's impossible to choose the best song, because all are so awesome, and I'll probably put more songs on my "tune of the week" in the future. They put so much thought behind their lyrics and they always mean something, but they are often kind of "look for the hidden mening" songs. And when they are on stage the crowd is always singing along, so great. But I'll put a normal version on, because it's easier to appreciate it for people who don't know the song. This time, tune of the week is one of Bikini's newer songs- "Angyali üdvözlet" (Angelic regards) and I chose this one because it's lyrics are most suitable for my mood today. Translation is available under the video, but the words mean so much more in Hungarian.

In angels, I've always believed, hoped for a miracle, under the Christmas tree
Opened the presents, like my wings did, with the philtre drinks
In angels, I've always believed, once I took one to the altar
We swore through good and through bad, flow together and then crashed  down

I'm not bothering, but my soul was broken by wars
I'm not rioting, but a whole world fell apart inside of me
I'm just watching, as the ethereal dust buries me
We'll meet, somewhere, sometime

In ghosts, I've always believed, filled my mind with legends
Everything elapses, life is so different
There are no heroes, nor angel legends

I'm not bothering, but my soul was broken by wars
I'm not rioting, but a whole world fell apart inside of me
I'm just watching, as the ethereal dust buries me
We'll meet, somewhere, sometime

I'm not bothering, but my soul was broken by wars
I'm not rioting, but a whole world fell apart inside of me
I'm just watching, as the ethereal dust buries me
We'll meet, somewhere, sometime

Peaches: (New Years) Tune of the week

This song is awesome, I'm following Pearls example about foreign songs. This is a German/English one and is kinda good on New Years Eve.
Nena feat. Kim Wilde- Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime.

Wrap your fingers 'round my neck you don't speak my dialect
But our images reflect drawn together by the flame
We are just the same embrace the wind and
Fall into another time and space

Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann.
If we belong to each other, we belong
Anyplace anywhere anytime

Im Sturz durch Zeit und Raum
Erwacht aus einem Traum
Nur ein kurzer Augenblick

Sweep upon me like a wave we are young and brave
Embrace the wind and float into another time and space

Pearl: Tune of the week

When I'm listen to this song I just want to go back to South America and stay there to live a simple life by the beach. Learn to speak Spanish, French and Portuguese, travel around and volunteer.  Let the wind carry us.

Peaches: Tune of the week

While Pearl is busting her ass off working (and teaching her new turk Swedish) I'm working on my final essay  and listening to music. This song happened to be on my playlist, and I thought...well yes. So today's tune of the week is not a new song, but a kind of an old one. Darren Hayes- Strange relationship. Pearl will think I'm the biggest nerd.

You push and pull me, and I'm about to lose my mind
Is this just a waste of time? Keep acting like you own me,
I keep running, watch me walking out that door
I hear you behind me

Pearl: Tune of the week

Mostly I think the tune of the week is about to recommend good music that doesn’t circulate on radio and TV, but this one I don’t want you to miss. It is very pretty in some way. This is a Scottish band from Glasgow with Geraldine. (Unfortunately it is not possible to get the link for the official video because of: Embedding disabled by request)

when your lost in the deep and darkest place around
may my words walk you home safe and sound

when you say that im no good and you feel like walking
i need to make sure you know thats just the prescription talking

when your feet decide to walk you on the wayward side
up upon the stairs and down the downward slide

i will turn your tide
do all that i can to heal you inside
i`ll be the angel on your shoulder
my name is geraldine, im your social worker

Peaches: Pre-Marathon/Tune of the week

Peaches

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin, no one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten, yeah

I break tradition, sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines, oh yeah yeah
We've been conditioned, to not make mistakes
But I can't live that way

Peaches: Tune of the week

I can't be without, you're my perfect little punching bag.

Yesterday, you got to listen to Pearl's "alternative" (okay the Killers are not very alternative and I like them too, but you'll see where I'm going) choice for Tune of the week. Today it's my turn, and when I'm the DJ, I will give you a mixture of uncool nerd pop, self destructive awesomeness or simply songs with great lyrics.
Today I give you Pink's "Please Don't Leave Me" which isn't well known. Yet. Awesome lyrics. Do listen to them.

Peaches
I can be so mean when I wanna be
I am capable of really anything
I can cut you into pieces

How did I become so obnoxious?
What is it with you that makes me act like this?
I've never been this nasty
Can't you tell that this is all just a contest?
The one that wins will be the one that hits the hardest
But baby I don't mean it, I mean it, I promise

Peaches and Pearl: information

Regarding our new cathegory, Tune of the week: well the name kind of gives it away. But we just want to inform everyone that Peaches and Pearl don't share the same taste in music.

Pearl recommends: The Killers Tranquilize
